So, yes, it’s been a while since we’ve posted on this site. What was intended to be a short break, turned into a 9 month extended leave. We’ve spent that time homeschooling, exploring, taking and teaching classes, and then recovering from the flu (it was really bad this year, wasn’t it!?). We also spent those months reevaluating what we’d like this site to be — how it could be more useful to families homeschooling in the metro Atlanta area and beyond — and how we can take what we do here online out into the real world.
One thing we’re going to do is start posting regularly. Events calendars, posts about all the wonderful things going on around town for homeschoolers, curriculum and resource reviews, and more posts about homeschooling topics in general. We’re adding new guest bloggers to expand our voice and offer different perspectives. And we’ll be partnering with local businesses, organizations, and other homeschool groups to build each other up and be a support within the secular homeschooling community.
We may also start monthly park days and meet ups OTP north (in the Norcross/Duluth/Peachtree Corners area) for homeschooling families who want to get together and get to know other secular homeschoolers in the area. And we are working with Gardens on the Side to offer two weeks of old-school summer camps in Avondale Estates this June and July. Info on all of those things will be posted soon! So check back.
If you are a homeschool writer or blogger who would like to contribute to this site, or a local business/organization offering classes or homeschool days for homeschoolers, or a secular homeschooling business who would like to be sponsor or place an ad on the site, please send us an email and let us know. We look forward to hearing from you!
