I’m happy to announce that I’m partnering with fellow homeschooling instructor and mom, Brandy Lucas (of Gardens on the Side), to offer two weeks of awesome old-fashioned summer camp for homeschooling families in the Atlanta area this summer. Here are the details:
Old Fashioned, Old-School Summer Camp with Brandy Lucas and Shawne Taylor
June 4-8 and July 16-20; 10am to 2pm; Avondale Estates, GA
This half-day homeschool summer camp will provide two weeks of screen-free fun for kids ages 5-12. Each day will include hands-on activities, arts/crafts, snacks, games, free play, outside time, and more, all built around a daily theme!
Brandy Lucas is a long-time LEAD member and homeschool mom of two teens. She has also owned and operated a children’s clothing line, worked as a nanny, and is a certified Tinkergarten teacher. Brandy enjoys the outdoors, games, fitness, working with children, healthy living, and modern homesteading. She currently teaches a half-day homeschool enrichment class at LEAD for ages 5-9, and is excited to share her interests with campers this summer. Brandy can be reached at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Shawne Taylor has been a homeschooling mom for 20 years, and an active member of LEAD for 18 years, having joined just after the group was formed. She is interested in history, world cultures, and good books. She has taught a variety of homeschool classes over the years, including Math Mania, Snacks and Stories from Around the World, Cultural Geography, and Game Design Challenges.
In addition to homeschooling, she has worked as a yoga teacher, (specializing in prenatal, kids, and family yoga) and as a professional writer and editor. She currently runs Summerly Homeschool, an online resource and blog for families homeschooling in metro Atlanta.
Outside of homeschooling, Shawne enjoys family time, gaming, movies, anime, reading, good food, cooking, gardening, hiking, being creative, and vacations at the beach. Shawne can be reached at: email@example.com
