Have you heard about the 2018 Secular Eclectic Academic (SEA) Homeschoolers Convention coming to Atlanta this summer? This 2nd annual, four-day national homeschooling conference will be held at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta from July 12-15, and I’m really looking forward to it!
Between the workshops, panels, and discussions for parents, the 100% secular vendor hall (with resources from both established and start up businesses), and the multitude of awesome activities for kids and teens (Harry Potter trivia, movie night, hands-on science, gaming tournaments, a makers space, and more!), there is more being offered than I think we’ll even have time for!
To make it easier to fit in as much fun as possible, my 8-year-old and I are booking a room at the Marriott Marquis for the weekend (using the special SEA Homeschoolers Convention rate), and treating the whole thing like a mini-staycation. He’s really looking forward to the indoor/outdoor pool and room service, along with making and hanging out with friends for the weekend.
I’m so happy to support this convention, I’ve even written a couple of articles for the SEA Convention website. Here’s one listing 15 fun things to do in Atlanta (for those visiting from out of town), and another sharing the reasons why your kids and teens will want to attend.
If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, I recommend doing so now while the price is discounted. It’s currently $100 for adults (for the entire weekend); $75 for teens; and $40 for kids ages 5-12. Tickets can be purchased online.
If you’re looking to save money on tickets, there’s also an option to get reimbursed for part of the ticket prices just for signing up to be a volunteer for part of the convention.
